New Nano Tank Question

I was wondering if I take water and live rock from an established tank and put it in my new nano tank. Will the new nano tank still need to cycle? Or will it just be a mini cycle?

There probably won't be a cycle.

All your doing is moving an established filter (the rock) from one tank to another. As long as you don't add a large bioload right off the bat, you should be fine IMO.

The water will have little effect but the live rock will likely help you avoid a cycle.

I would not bother with the water, the rock should/would be enough to avoid the cycle

You probably already know this, but it will be important not to let that live rock dry out. Carry it in buckets submerged in saltwater and you probably will avoid a cycle entirely. I'd still keep a watch out for ammonia just in case you have a mini cycle.
