Green hair algae in a week old tank?

Hello RC, a week ago I upgraded my tank size from a 24g nano to a 50g rimless. I moved all inhabitants from my 24g to my new tank except my sand. I moved the LR, a false percula, 6 line wrass, a few snails, a fire shrimp, and a swissguard basslet. I chose 35lbs of marco rock to add to my existing reef, the tank was filled with Ro Di salt mix form my LFS. I also added Fritz Zyme #9 to the tank to shorten the cycle time and keep amonia and nitrates at bay so i wouldnt encounter any fish or coral loss. Now I am seeing "peach fuzz" green algea sprouting all over my marco rock but, none on my live rock. I am also having some serious Ph swings in the morning 7.5 and in the evening 8.1. I know that Ph is lower in the morning normally but, is it usually by this much? Is my tank still cycling? My ammonia is at .25 ppm, nitrate is 0, and my nitrite is 20 ppm. any insite to what is happening would be helpful, thanks.

Those rocks are known to leach po4 , this is probly your issue why there's algae on them

thanks for the quick reply. So should I just wait this out? Is there anything I can do to clean this up?

Yes, it definitely is still cycling. Until ammonia and nitrite reach 0 and nitrate begins to climb you have not fully cycled.

I have heard of people dipping dry rock in muric acid to clean them but have not tried this myself. Since its already in the tank I would just wait it out. Might want to bost your clean up crew and or look in a algae grazing fish. (after your tank stablizes of course).

Congrads on the upgrade

Thanks Derbird, that was gonna be my next question in regards to a CUC. I was thinking more snails, and maybe some more shrimp. I dont want to add any fish until im sure this tank is stable.

green algae on my live rock

I have a beautiful piece of live rock, and this morning I noticed green slimy looking algae growing on it. I have been reading in the forums that sometimes green algae is the beginning of coraline. I posted a picture of the rock. Can you guys give me any direction?
