deep blue t5 ballast

I think a ballast in my t5 is wearing out. Does anyone know if they can be replaced?

Open the fixture up and check the ballast size, I just replaced the two ballasts on my Odyssea 4 x 54 watt fixture with a couple of Sylvania Ballasts. If I could do it I'm sure you can.

yes and they will even send you one for free if you call and complain.. however I know for a fact that their Ballast is weak to begin with.. I eventually replaced minie with a TEK and could not be happier

Thanks guys. I really don't like to contact deep blue, due to the fact it's email only. I guess my next question is what is a good ballast to use? TEK was mentioned, but I don't have a local fish store. I was going to purchase one from a hardware or lighting specialty store.

each bulb is 24 watts, consisting of 4 bulbs. My guess is that there are four ballasts. I have a deep blue 2 bulb fixture, with one ballast per bulb.

How many switches does it have ? Does it have a built in timer ?
It probably has 2 ballasts that run 2 bulbs each, 2 whites and 2 blues.

this is what you looking for if it's a Deep Blue Solarxtreme T5HO
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Deep-Blue-So...item2a239e1bad

for a four bulb light you'll need 2 of them.

because it's only 24 inch light its hard to find a different brand ballast.
if you want to look for a diff brand you look for a programed start F24T5HO x 2 with a ballast rating of 1.0

It has one master switch, and a timer. I haven't taken apart to see the ballasts yet. It's pain to take apart. It's a solar extreme.
