Should I remove my Emperor 400?

I have been reading through all of the resources on this lovely forum and I have came across the debate on whether or not to have a bio filter. I have an emperor 400 with several ceramic rings in it. Tank is about 1 year old and up until a few days ago, was a Fowlr tank. I now have a small rock with green star polyps and I have a small ricordea. I have a reef octopus bh90 that was also just installed two days ago. Should I remove my emperor 400 when my skimmer has broken in? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Current Parameters:
pH: 8.0
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrate: 30 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Calcium: 400 ppm
Carbonate Hardness Test: 9 dKH
Phosphate:between 0 and 0.25 ppm
Temperature: 78 degrees
