Converting from durso's to a herbie in a RR tank question

So I am thinking of converting. I have a RR tank with 4 bulk heads in the bottom. 2 in each overflow. Right now I have 1 durso and one pump return in each.

If I switch to Herbie which I assume takes one of the over flows for the siphon and emergency, what do i do with the other overflow? Run 1 Herbie and 1 pump return?

Im assuming you have dual overflows? If you have the same holes in both overflows say you have a 1.5" drain and 3/4" return. I would take 1.5" drain in both overflows convert 1 into full siphon. The othet 1.5"drain into emergency just taller then the full siphon drian in the other box. That make sense?

1 box with be
1.5" full siphon lets say its 10" tall now you switch to the other durso in the 2nd box .make that your emergency at lets say 15" height . You keep your returns in both boxs and have. A full siphon at 10" in 1 box and the 2nd box have emergebcy drain at let say 15" just guess on sizing. Hth

Yes dual overflows with 1" bulkheads

I think I follow, Increase 1 Bulkhead to 1 1/2" for the main drain? Keep the emergency to 1"?

Keep them at there current size. Just take left overflow box drain turn that into full siphon.
Right overflowbox drain make that emergency drain at 2-3"taller then the full siphon in the "left box".. follow? Its rele simple once you get it figured out

Ya I got it, will have to experiment. I got a bunch of 1" PVC so I can mess with it. Tank is in my garage with fresh water to test plumbing
