Maybe a DIY kit? These are the best value right now.

the Marineland Led Reef light is not all that bad on a budget. its par readings are good for softies in a talk thats 13" or less. if you try to go sps you may have an issue. you can always pick one up at petco for $180 and try it for a week or 2. amazon sells them for 139 shipped. should work fine for a 10gal.

I would just get one or two par38 bulbs if you're just going to do zoas and softies. You can find them on ebay for $40-60 bucks.

That's a good option but is going to be higher than your $100 budget.

LED is generally in most cases, you get what you pay for from my experience. Good example is Kessil!

Kessil A150 LED - Cheaper than the Marineland "Reef Capable" but a million times better.

"Reef Capable" those two words are a joke.

And it just makes that LED sound inferior.

Stupid Marineland.

Marineland'ss policy is too sell the worst LED on the market, Tanks that crack so you loose everything and have water all over the floor, and make heaters that fry countless tanks.

I am boycotting marineland for these reasons.

Everyone else should too.

I think I'm upping my tank to 20g and decided to get kessil 350w, I can adjust the color and intensity. I can use that also if and when I upgrade to a larger tank.

Very good point. The A350/A360 are great for larger tanks too.

That way when you upgrade down the road you will still have a useable light.
