What is the best HOB skimmer?

Any suggestions? Looking for something for a 55 g tank. I was thinking about trying the Octopus 90.

I hear good things about the JNS VS1, but I'm sure the octo would work well too. With HOB skimmers the best way to keep them performing is to use an ATO so your water level fluctuates as little as possible.

After studying this exact question myself i found great reviews on reef octopus. I went with a 2000 and couldn't be happier. Functions extremely well.

BH2000. Also consistent water level is not so important with HOB skimmers due to how they collect water. It is more important for in-sump skimmers.

Is there any way to quiet the Octopus BH2000? It seems like it gets good reviews except it is noisy. I definetely need a quiet skimmer.

The super reef octopus HOB seems to get good reviews and be quiet?

The JNS V1 skimmer seems like it is a quality skimmer and quiet.

Deltec makes hob skimmers as well.

The bh2000 is great. Skims very well. I've had it since December and it works great. It's not that loud though. My tank is in my bedroom and I sleep there every night with no problems

The AquaMaxx HOB-1 is awesome! rated to 75gal
I tried the CPR backpack for two days but took it back because it was very loud and produced microbubbles.

I'm running the HOB-1 on my JBJ 30RL that's two feet away from my bed and it is silent and productive. (it does not fit inside the JBJ 30RL fuge area, but hangs off the back nicely next to a RO HOB fuge)

I've never tried the Reef Octopus HOB but I have their Diablo XS200 running on my 125g and it's wonderful.
