I just started running it using the advice of a fellow reefer here, and I can see a dramatic difference in the water clarity. My skimmer went nuts for the first week, but after that, it does not pull much out now. I use very small does, <35mg/hr, plumbed into my skimmers. Nothing fancy, just a UV style made for 600g spa. No drier needed, no carbon for output needed, just pulled into my skimmer. I run them on a timer, 12 - 6 am.

There really isn't any reason not to. Virtually all public aquariums use ozone for all fish / mammals and everyone I've seen try it on their tank has great results.

I see concerns about safety from time to time, but unless you are using a unit the size of a mini-fridge the ozone produced is trivial. Whatever makes it out of your skimmer is gone in seconds.
