Would you help me with my first salt water configuration
I am starting off with a Peacock Mantis Shrimp Tank and a Mantis Food tank. The food Tank will be just a 5 gallon glass tank with a small filter and 8 watt heater(no light) i will use water conditioners and salt tablets so no prep , and gravel bottem with 3 small artificial caves and two fake plants. it will hold a group of Ghost Shrimp and occasionally a few red clawed crabs. The main tank is 29 gallons(glass) with a full hood and florescent lighting it will have a deep sand bed made with aragonite sand and in the center back of the tank will be a very large piece of live rock. on its sides will be two types of coral(help me decide) and right in front an empty area of just sand. The filter running will be a EHEIM ecco pro 2232. The heater will be an Aqueon® Submersible Aquarium Heater. This is what i have planned let me know how to improve it. I didn't know if I would need a sump for a 29 gallon tank. Also i would like to have one thing live with the shrimp so tell me if you guys know of any other strong fish that could hold thier own in a tank with it.

I have never kept mantis shrimp but If you scroll down the forum list under inverts there is a mantis forum. You will probably get more specific answers there. Good luck
