Just got my Jebeo wp40
Where should I place it in the tank?
I'm setting up a 150 (60"x24"x24") and in the process of filling it with rodi water. (about halfway done) My return is a sicce 5.0 with 4 outputs into the tank so there is not much movement there. Might reduce it down to 2 outputs to get more flow from the return but for now I'll leave it as is. Probably will get another wp40 if this one does good but for right now I'll just have one |

Place it below the water line far enough so it doesn't suck air and high enough off the bottom so it doesn't suck sand. Beyond that will depend on the aquascape and layout.

About placement. You will have to experiment to find the sweetspot. It depends on coral and rock placement.

I have 7 Vortechs from various tanks. These are way quieter and I need something quieter because my tank is in a home theater room. Was looking at the tunze but don't want to spend that much money again. I have replaced many parts on my Vortechs over the years and had one dry side magnet shatter, several wetside magnets rust and rupture and they were always too loud for the room. One thing I can say is that echo tech has awesome customer service, but for the price I paid for the jebao, I don't expect any CS. At this price it is basically a throw away product. |

I wonder if you made this decision before of after you had your Chinese take out, and posted it from your Chinese made computer or smartphone. |

Thanks for the input guys. Since I have no rock or livestock yet I'll just stick that sucker in there to see what it does.
I would have liked to buy mp40's or tunze but Setting everything up all at once is a bank breaker. Maybe once everything is running and my check book bounces back I'll be able to pay 450 for a mp40. Until then I'll just take my chances. |

Try running Tunze 6100's with a 17" tall tank, I have had to be creative with placement but it is working ok, but I do understand.

CJR579 - good luck with the new tank and sorry your thread ended up in the religious war that seems to be cropping up everywhere! To answer your question, like most powerheads , you are going to have to move it around a bit depending on the rock work and flow you look to achieve.
I dont have experience with the WP40 but with what I have I try to adjust it to hit another steam of water such as a return or even your front glass. That way you get a very random flow where the two water flow intersect. Again, best wishes with the tank. Filling it for the first time is an exciting event. I will say, most people mix the salt water first prior to putting it in the tank. Do you have sand? Perfectly fine to mix in the tank if its empty but I would avoid trying to mix it in the tank if you have sand or anything else in there. Share some Picts if you have the time!

I understand your sentiments, but when the price difference is that large, I cannot justify it. |

I could say a lot but the other posters in this thread about Jebo have already said it all.
I'll save time and post the link. You can read mine and many others thoughts on what these Cheap Chinese Knockoffs are doing. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2282440

No sand yet. Just a little h2o. Will put the sand in after the salt is mixed Here are a few pictures of the build so far. Hope this photobucket link works! Don't mind the stripe walls. The space was once my office and i was going to do a nice built in tank but with 3 girls I had to compromise and make it a toy room. Luckily the wife let me put a tank in there. http://s1339.photobucket.com/user/cj...Gallon%20Build Last edited by cjr579; 04/13/2013 at 08:57 PM. |

The tank and plumbing look great. Did you build the stand or buy it?
