Deep Sand Bed VS Miracle Mud VS Both

Hey guys I am looking to do a refugium in my sump. I went to 3 local fish stores and they each told me a different thing as far as what to use. One said just a deep sand bed, the other said miracle mud works great, and the third said to use both. I'm really not sure what to do or use, so I am asking you guys for help. What do you guys/girls use or recommened for my refugium?

Would I be fine just using a deep sand bed in there with snails and starfish?

MM is a waste. Save your money. It serves ZERO purpose...it just makes your wallet lighter.

Just use both anyway as they say the more the merrier likewise two different products are more likely to take more effect than just one

This not a good way to go about reefing.

I would always suggest everyone do their own research before they just throw items in their tank

Thank you all. I decided to go with the sand only as it would be easier to maintain it and not have to replace so often. Now deciding on what kind of sand but I guess i will just go to the local store... ;-)
