It kind of looks like a whelk IMO. (not good sometimes)
Try posting this in the Other Invertebrates forum. There's a few gurus there that can give you a positive ID. |

Agree, it looks like a whelk. The ones that come in as hitch hikers often live by consuming other mollusks - such as snails and clams.
