Starting a 60 Gal Rimless build - Any advice is greatly appreciated

Hey folks:

I'm starting a 60 gal build, great Father's Day gift from the wife & kids. So far I've purchased the following equipment:

- Eshopps RS100 refugium
- JBJ Nanoglo refugium light
- Rio 2500 pump
- Chemipure Elite

I've visited 3-4 LFS here in the Fort Lauderdale / Boca Raton area and noticed that it's pretty hard to get the same answer twice. My concerns are the following:

1) How much sand will I need - is the rule 1lb per Gal still viable?
2) Do I need to cure my live rock or can I just stick it in the tank to cycle?
3) How soon do I need to purchase lighting?
a) Want to do an AI Apex, if budget allows - however will I need more than 1 for this tank?
b) Is there a cheaper lighting option that I could use to get by until the tank & my bank account cycles?
4) Can I get by with the Rio, is this pump large enough?
a) Should I invest in an Eheim to play it safe? I've alot of support for Eheim pumps and would rather do it right the first time.

I'll start posting pics as soon as I actually get underway - thanks in advance for everyone's time & help!

I can help with a couple:

2) You don't need live rock, nor need to cure it before you cycle the tank. It will become "live" after the cycle.

3) You don't need any lighting other than just a regular florescent light until you have coral. Fish don't care what kind of lighting you have. Save yourself some money while you just have live rock and fish.
