I use a Sicce .5 and it has been great so far. I like to get a pump that is a little more than you need so you can fine tune the flow with a ball/gate valve

I have a sicce 1.5 on my TLF 550. It works fine, doesn't make any noise even when restricted by the ball valve.

I use a MJ1200 for the BRS dual reactor. Ball valve is only open about 25" so I could have probably gotten away with a MJ600

Your just going to keep getting random answers it might help if you specify the reactor and tell us if you appreciate quality over price or price over quality.

Honestly I would skip the mj and marineland route all together. Look into a sicce, like I said I have one on my TLF 550. I also use an eheim compact that is adjustable in itself, amazing pump as well.

The old style ones yes, I wouldn't bet on the new Marineland ones being that reliable. The Cobalt MJ1200 is the same as the old maxi-jet, but only time will tell if they last as long. But FWIW I use a Cobalt MJ1200 on my reactor.

I use single BRS reactor's for both GAC and GFO. My system calls for ~ 1 1/2 cups ea. of the ROX 0.8 and HC GFO. I didn't want to use the supplied ball valves, so I bought pumps that would provide the necessary flow without restriction, so I used an MJ400 on the GAC and a MJ600 on the GFO. These were the original MJ's, and are now about 8 years old, so if you go this route, I'd suggest using the Cobalt over the Marineland product.

Am i doing okay or something wrong?
I have Eheim compact 1000 running from 12/16mm into 3/8 pipe and reactor similar to BRS and not getting tumble. I can see folks using MJ600 and being okay. Doesnt sound like i would kill that pump by using through smaller pipe. Thinking of some new pump but it might not help. Odoslané z ANE-LX1 pomocou Tapatalku |

Get a little Eheim "Universal" pump. Those definitely do last just about forever.
