deionized water filter
i'm on a budget with my tank set up, and I found a great deal on a RO water filter, but i'd rather have ro/di. it's just ro water that has to be under pressure (with the membrane) right?
I can't find just a di filter, it's all ro or rodi, so can I just pour the ro water over di resin myself, or do I have to have special equipment? is deionized water really all that necessary anyway? |

I don't use DI water. But you need the canister and it should be inline with the rest of the unit. The water needs to be pushed through the resin. DI is not a must have.

Check Bulk Reef Supply, they have separate components so you could purchase a separate DI canister there. Without expensive water analysis it is impossible to tell you if you need a DI filter but long term nearly everyone should use one to prevent heavy metal build-up.
