I have aquarium switching OCD
Well I decided to replace my new 50gal acrylic with a 57 gal rimless glass from deep blue.
The 57 gallon will be my third tank. First: nuvo 24 returned because of various reasons (nano was not for me) and never touched water. Second: glasscages 50gal tall acrylic. I thought I could handle the scratches but my will is no match for my four year old daughter and my 2 year old nephew. It doesn't take much to add a surface scratch (sadly, I knew this but did it anyway). Also the aquarium is not rimless. Third and hopeful the final will be a 57 gallon rimless from deep blue. My plans for the acrylic tank is to buff out the scratches and selling it once the 57 is in place. I did modify the rim to allow a overflow box to fit guess we will see if I can sell it. I know.. I know.. I see a trend going on and no I cant afford to do a 180 gallon. So has anyone else gone though 3 tanks in less that two months? PS my old tank back in the day was a 90 gallon reef however.

Ohhh let me tell you a story of when I first started the hobby..
2003 I bought a 37 Marineland with built in filtration. 2 months later I said no way!! TOOO SMALL.. So I went to a 55G only 3 weeks later I found I liked the depth of the 75 better so there I went.. Had that up and running succesfully for about 4 1/2 month and came across a used 115g that I couldn't pass up.. 4 months later after stocking with coral and fish. I was working at a LFS at the time one of our clients was getting rid of a 300G 8' long.. Well me being me.. I snatched that bad boy up... Needless to say in 1 year almost $10,000 later I had a full fledge 300G reef.. THEN life struck job change/Girl change = life change had to move and bam! out of the hobby but now.. I'm back at it w/ a new 100G AND believe you me I waited and looked forever for the perfect size tank for me. |

Lol. Part of me is regretting not buying the 75. But I cant get too crazy. I came back to the hobby after my wife and I split and soon to be divorced. My daughter started me back in the hobby by wanting to go visit the "fish store".
If someday I am in a house again then I will go larger. Right now I am in an apartment and need to keep the tank on the smaller side.
