I have a Nova extreme slr 4 bulb t5 lightand someone is giving me a current 8bulb light. I know someone who has a tel 6 bulb he will give me for $100 should I buy the tel 6 bulb take the 8 bulb or just use my original 4bulb. I have a softhearted and ops tank but was thinking about going with a few easier spec or possibly a clam. Any impute would be appreciated.

TEK is the best of them. Not a bad price......

I believe current 8 bulb fixtures don't have the better reflectors as the newer current fixtures, I believe, you should make sure though.

The TEK stomps it. Adding a fan to the TEK makes a pretty good fixture.

Do it, you won't regret it. Those 2 extra bulbs you have to replace are going to cost you $40 a year, plus the extra 100w of electricity and heat the 8 bulb will generate.

I'm growing SPS and a clam on the sandbed of my 75g with a 6 bulb Tek, good luck making that happen with a Current.
