Head loss question

Why does the calulation change for head loss when you change the pump, but not any other variable such as number of 45 degree angles or length of pipe?

Oh it does change with 45 or 90 elbows added or removed from the system and even length of pipe. But the ability of the pump itself and the vertical head are far and away the 2 most important factors. Maybe 90% or 95% of the equation if it's a simple system.
