Flame angel?
I have a 29 gallon bow front fowlr tank with a clownfish and a six line wrasse. I plan on adding a diamond watchman goby and a flame angel. I want to know if the flame angel would be fine to add to the tank. If so are there any special needs that they have?

the flame angel will probably be fine. The diamond watchman goby will starve in a tank that small, and the six line may give any new comers a hard time

Personally, I have to disagree with the flame angel in the tank that small. If you really want an angel, a cherub might make a better choice, but can be aggressive.

your tank should be ok for a flame angel according to my local fish store. i was going to purchase one for my 24 gallon and they said it would be ok, buy a small one and to give them plenty of hiding spots.

I have to disagree with the flame, I had one in my 29, it was a very bad idea, and those fish grow very big, they need lots of rock work not only to hide but to graze on. You should double the tank size if you want a flame.

I had a Flame Angel in my 29 Biocube, which I sold back to the lfs after two weeks, because I felt sorry for it. They're *very* active fish, and I just felt it didn't have enough swimming room. IMO, your tank should be twice the size it is for one...

Flame angels need at least a 55g tank.

I would not put a flame in anything less than a 75 frankly. Diamond watchman really needs to be eating prepared foods if you are going to have much chance of keeping it longer. Mine eats mysis, krill, even nori, and is the biggest piggy in my tank.

A flame angel in a 29G should be fine depending upon the other tank mates and how much LR, filtration etc you have. But in a space that small I would be concerned with aggression issues especially with a 6-line. If it were going to be the only fish or if it were kept with a couple on non-aggressives (say firefish) then it should be OK. But...
I kept my flame in my 29G with a couple of clowns and a bicolor blenny for a couple of years with only a bit of aggression between the flame and clowns. I was using a lot of live rock so there was a lot of hiding places. As soon as I upgraded to the 40B the aggression immediately lessened and I could see that all of the fish were acting in a much more relaxed manner. With the increased footprint there was always something more interesting to investigate at the other end of the tank.

Flame angels are absolutely beautiful...in a 75 gal or larger tank. I've had 2 at 2 different times, and they were wonderful. The dwarf angels tend to be very active. I really don't recommend any of them in a nano aquarium. Well, maybe a 30+ tank, like the cherub. Maybe, and then the tank should be at least 6 months old ... well established live rock.

Consider the fact it's not 29gal of swimming space with live rock and such. IMO its just as bad putting a tang in at 29. Sadly saltwater doesn't have too many fresh water fish equivalent of a neon. Maybe because the ocean tends to be bigger lol.
