White fuzzy like growth????

Hey y'all.

See my reef up as like a suspended reef and i've had this white fuzzy like growth on the bottom of my live rock. Well part of it is breaking off. Anyone have any ideas of what it is. It felt lik cartilage. That's the only way I can describe it.

Thanks in advance.
Paul

Please forgive my ignorance but.
Is it cool??? Now that it's breaking loose do I just let it go where it wants?
I know some sponges serve a purpose. Does a pineapple sponge?

Im not a hundred percent sure they are pineapple sponges. However, pineapple sponges are good filter feeders

Looks like a sponge but not a pinapple sponge.

And yes pinapple sponges are great little filter feeders

Thanks for the replies.
Maybe we will get some more input.
What ever it seems to be a type of sponge. A natural filter. That is cool.
