120w dimmable LED's

I've been seeing them all over ebay so I decided to order some and give them a try for my 65 gallon reef-- wondering if anyone uses them and what sort of feedback they have from them?

JW on things such as coral growth (LPS/SPS/Softies..etc), algae growth, optics vs no optics.

Anything in general. What do you guys think about them?

Thanks~

The Reef Breeders Value fixture is only $180 shipped. What's wrong with that? 120w, great colors, only good reviews. I would definitely choose that. It's still super cheap.
The ebay fixtures have extremely poor spectrum and color, but they will grow coral.

I have been using the eBay fixture for about 2 weeks...been running at 50%. The reef breeders unit is identical, they are both from china. My corals love it so far, blues and whites are set on different timer.

Reefbreeders unit uses different leds, in different colors and has violets. It is better.

Eeeeeeeeee! Just got them and they are so pretty! 2 for 300 and a drastic improvement from my 6x HO t5 fixture.

I have 2 w/optics for my 65... And i don't doubt whenever I upgrade to a larger tank they will look fine.

How do you guys have yours mounted?

Does your coral think so too? Can you post a picture now, and update this thread in a month?

#skepticalofleds
Although I agree with you in this case. Ebay... ugh.

I must ask why you are skeptical of LEDs. I run the reef tanks at our store and switched from 250 watt metal halides to 90 watt UFOs. I wouldn't say there was a significant difference in growth, but there was a substantial reduction in heat.

Not skeptical of leds; I love leds.
Skeptical of how well corals will do with those specific colors of leds.

They actually have 3 different varieties for the spectrum. I chose the full spectrum system. I will take some photos tomorrow and then in a month. We shall see how they do!
