Ground floor flooring question on 210 gallon
I'm thinking I may pick up an Oceanic 210 tomorrow and had a question on the weight. This will go on the ground floor but I do have wood floors. The wood is not directly on the slab but is set on top of what looks like 1x4s that are spaced maybe 4-6" apart. Should there be any issue with weight on this setup? First pic shows the area i will probably place it and second is what is under the floor. Please excuse the unfinished construction pics as I've been adding different trim all over the place... Thanks!!!

You are fine, with that spacing perpendicular to the long side of the tank weight will not be an issue.

Nice wood floors! I had a 120 on my wood floor at my old house, and was worried about spills, etc. I cut a piece of 3/4" oak plywood 3" bigger on each side than the footprint of my stand. I trimmed it with 1" lathe, to create a slight lip, stained and poly'd it to match the floor. When I moved 8 years later, the floor looked brand new. My wife never complained about the salt water spills on the wood floor.
It won't hold gallons of water, but will safeguard against small spills. |
