Bulkhead Hole

I am going to check out a new tank that I might possibly buy but the seller says there is a bulkhead hole in the bottom pane from what might have been a closed loop system.

Will this cause an issue? He said he patched it up with what looks like glass but would it be better to get a bulkhead and plug or is the piece of glass okay?

I will be using the overflow that is in the tank. Tank is a 60g cube.

Depends on how he put the glass over it. If it's on there good and tight you have no worries, but once again, that depends on how it was patched

if it is glass that was patched from the inside you should be fine. if the patch is on the outside I wouldn't trust it.

So i ended up getting the tank and filling it up to see that it leaked which is what I expected.

I removed the sloppy silicon job so now what would be the best option to plug the hole?

either just a square of glass over the hole if you never plan on using it, or a bulkhead that you plug on both ends (preferably the latter)

just get some pvc plugs from the local hardware store and a threaded bulkhead, I agree the bulkhead ways is the best IMO
