Coral for Starters

I want a stock of 8-12 pieces of coral. I am a beginner into the hobby and seeking expertise from some of you seasoned reefers. I'm seeking a list of cooperative corals that are colorful and easy to take care of. I don't want to buy something then have it positioned next to something it doesn't like. So this is why im asking you!

Some of the corals I like are colorful zoanthids, I enjoy the stony coral, pretty much anything with color. I just got this new led light and I'm pretty sure I could house any coral.

So Here are my tank and light specs:

Kessil tuna blue a350w 2 channel led pendant
27 gallon, 2 gal trickle sump, 4 gal canister filter
remora pro skimmer

What corals do you suggest? Please indentify what family the coral is in too please!

Zoanthids are definitely easy with lots of color. Maybe try out an acan as well? As easy sps would be montipora caps or birdsnest. For me all of these I listed grew relatively quickly for me and are all pretty colorful depending on the color morph you get. Try out some euphyllias too.

When I ordered my cuc I got a bunch of coral freebies. Ricondia, zoanthids, and mushrooms. They are all doing great and look very nice. Everything has doubled in size already.

Duncan's, zoas, palys, and some mushrooms should be good to start... Elegance corals are not good starter corals... Also, from my experience anemones shouldn't be added for awhile until your tank matures... Added one too early and learned my lesson... Now I have two in my tank doing well...

I agree, elegance corals are not for beginners, they used to be an easy coral but from where they are collected now makes them difficult.
