Purchase or build your own fish trap. You cut the cone end off a clear plastic Coke bottle, turn it around and stuff it back into the main body of the bottle so you have a funnel leading back into the main body of the bottle. Place some food in the trap along with a rock as a weight and put it in your tank. Fish will swim into the bottle looking for the food but can't figure out how to get out. There is a thread with pictures if you do a search.

Dont cardinals just sit in the mid water level? Just turn the lights off and net them out? They dont seem like they would be a very hard fish to catch.
But if they are really being a pain thegrun is right about the fish trap. Its very easy to make but i would use a water bottle instead of coke just to minimize what chemicals you put into the tank. also make sure you bury the bottle a bit cause when i caught a blenny a month back it had a hard time getting through the opening because it didnt know it was a clear bottle and just kept trying to swim through the side of the bottle. Good luck. |
