Peppermint shrimp?

I bought two of these peppermint shrimp, an I'm wondering if these are the true peppermints that eat aptasia?

Thanks for the info, my aptasia is VERY small right now, and one of the more noticeable ones wasn't there this morning and I just put the shrimp in last night so I'm hopeful.

I bought two, one died and the other lived for over a year. The one that lived mowed down aiptasia. If it doesn't, purchase some aiptasia X from red sea. It works great!

(i like joe's juice personally)

some Peps eat aptasia like it's going out of style and some have no interest. Live aquaria sells ones that are supposed to. your LFS might have some working at the store too, talk to a reliable person there and see if they have any that do eat aptasia and if the store is willing to part with them

The ones from the Keys will nearly always crush the aips.

However, sometimes they will not go after the big ones, so you have to knock those back yourself - I use boiling/hot water to knock them down and then the peps finish them off.

I have my pep for a year, no aiptasia since except for a huge one on my filter when I just changed it out (so there must be more occationally) which the shrimp eats. He never shows up during the day, I can occationally make out his silouette inside the life rock, he survived several mishaps in my beginner tank... would definately recommend these little guys but don't expect a pretty display!
