RODI Improvements help

Ok I had some issues with source water recently. I don't want that to happen again so I'm working to improve my RO unit to be the best unit it can be. I'm not looking to per chase a new unit. I want to know when to change filters and have a way to calculate when's the right time to change filter not just guessing based on time so here's what I have.

Ok I purchased a second dual inline TDS monitor for my RODI unit. I would like thoughts on where u would put the sensors and why? Here is what I planned so far. This is my RO unit set up

Sediment
Catylitic carbon block
Regular carbon ( is this activated carbon?)
TDS Sensor 1 in
Pressure gauge
Membrain
TDS Sensor 1 out
First DI
TDS Sensor 2 in or out
Second DI

I don't have a spot for the last sensor.

I will have an TDS in pre membrain and post membrain so I can easily calculate rejection rate and will know when to change membrain. Currently I have just been changing once a year.

Second TDS monitor will be after first DI resin. I will still have a second DI resin after this one. I have though about putting a TDS out after second DI but I will be changing it over as soon as first DI reads 001 so don't see the reason for needing it after second DI.

Any reason to put it anywhere else? If so where and for what purposes?
Also if I added more pressure gauges could that help me determine when to change other filters?

Sediment filter gets changes very often as they r only 2$ so when I see the filter is brown I change it out.

Roger

sediment get changed when it turns brown.
carbon filters get changed when pressure starts to drop or every 6 months at the latest.
membrane gets changed when rejection rate starts to go down.
DI gets changed when your no longer reading 0

you could add a probe to the incomming line so you know what the tap water is reading. otherwise you have them in good spots.

I'd put that last sensor after the last DI just to be sure you have zero tds at the end. Mine has read zero tds for so long that I occasionally check it with a handheld tds meter just to confirm the inline one is working!

+1

You can change the prefilters when the pressure drops 10% or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
