My 75 gal cornerflo is just about stable

I am only into this for about a year now I started with a 55 with hangon everything and it had to go So I got a 75 Gal Cornerflo a Aqueon model 3 sump, 80lb's live sand, about 60 Lb's of dry Pukani from BRS I had about 25 LB's of Fiji already, 2 Marineland NJ4500 Maxi-Jet 1 as a backup, 48 Inch 4x54 Watt AquaticLife T5 HO Light Fixture w/ 4 Lunar LEDs, long story as short as I can put it,

I started in the 55 then set up the75 with sand only I did a 25% water change on the 55 and used it to kickstart the 75 once a week I did a 10% on the 55 and used it to replace the water in the 75 for about a month till the levels were all 0 I then transferred 1/3 of the live Fiji rock to the 75 waited a few days checked the water and put 2 of the smallest fish in continued this until everyone was in the 75, then I put the dry Pukani in the 55 and let it cure for 8 weeks I was surprised to see the levels spike and drop so fast, I began moving the Pukani to the 75 over about 2 weeks, at this point I had one Maroon Clown a Lawnmower Blenny a yellowtail Damsel a Striped Damsel a Blue Devil Damsel and 3 PJ cardinals, all the damsels were sold except the yellow tail, I just installed a deluxe 6 Stage RO/DI system because of the phosphates caused a massive hair algae outbreak until then I got my hands on a Blunt end sea hare that has almost eradicated it, a few days ago I added 9 scarlet hermits and a Emerald crab there was one in there but I have not seen it in weeks, I have 1 turbo snail, 6 Trochus Snails, a skunk cleaner shrimp, ok that's the list besides the 1 small zoa rock and another I forget the name of, my levels are all 0 I just found a massive colony of amphipods in the Refugium I never added them only tiger pods for the Mandarin I almost forgot that eats mysis shrimp no problem I had him for about 6 months now! I have no Idea were the amphipods came from but it's good for the Mandarin, now that I have the RO/DI system the hair algae has been shrinking to the point of fear the sea hare may starve unless I find it a new home! I only changed about 20 gal's of water using the RO so far I guess I am doing ok if any one has any suggestions or know of anything I am doing wrong please feel free to let me know I will post a few photos.008.jpg

I too have a ton of amphipods and a mandarin that eats just about anything. It's possible the ampipods came with the pods you bought for your Mandarin. Mine isn't big enough to eat the big amphipods yet but I have seen him bite one in half eat it then eat the other half lol
