GFO question

How many days should I being running GFO (in reactor) on a 125?

It's more a question as to how much, not how long as stated above run it 24/7. When you first start I would use about half the recommended amount and build up over a few weeks to a month.

Gfo should be ran 24 hours per day. You need to actively test your PO4 and then change out your media when it stops dropping as its exhausted.

i run mine until i see it get up to about .03. i use a brs jumbo reactor filled with no tumbling. i have no problems with it seizing up inside the canister either. lasts about 2 months before i need to change it

I run it 24/7 for about 6 - 8 weeks.

That's more than I thought. I've only been running for a few days to a week based on how quickly algae builds up on the glass. Thanks.

The gfo can't keep the PO low enough to prevent algae growth if you're feeding too much.

I run about 4-5 inches in my 2 little fishies reactor for about a month. I need to get a PO test kit..
