LED Fixtures and Banding/Disco Effect

So I'm curious about all the major fixtures out there right now. I've only ever seen Radions in person but I'm curious about them and all the other fixtures as well. Is there a point that you can push them to where they start to band? For instance, cranking up surface agitation or varying the height of your fixture. I'm just curious to see if there is a sweet spot that these guys are operating in or can they still render good quality light under all circumstances.
