looking for lighting recommendations

I'm new to so reef's and SW tanks and I'm looking for recommendations for lighting. I've done A LOT of research but with with all the different types available, you can imagine my frustration.

I have a 90 gallon 48x18x24 and I do plan on having SPS's at some point shall I be lucky enough to make it that far.

Although MH's are reliable, I'm really looking towards T5's. Only LED's if I find a great deal, but for now, I think I'm going to wait until the technology improves further.

Now for the T5's, I'm thinking about getting an ATI fixture. Is getting the 48" 6x54 for $520 good enough or should I shell out an extra $140 for the model with a built in controller?

Is there any unit out there that will give me a better bang for my buck but also be reliable?
