Bio-Ball removal questions
Set up a 90 with a wet-dry last week. after reading a bunch, it sounds like the bioballs might cause me nitrate trouble down the road. So, before I get to far along with the cycle, I'm thinking of removing them now. A couple of questions im hoping someone can help me with:
1. When I remove them, do I just place the LR and rubble on the same egg crate that the balls were on and let the water trickle over it, or should I remove the egg crate and fully submerge the rock/rubble? 2. Can I remove them all at once? There is nothing in the tank and it hasn't cycled yet. I'm patient and not in any hurry to add anything. 3. Is there any cons to adding the rock/rubble in the sump drip area before the tank is cycled? Should I wait? I would like to keep the drip tray in the wet dry for now as it is my only means of mechanical filtration. Down the road, I'll build some dividers for the sump with a macro chamber, but that is down the road. one more question, is it a must to have light in the sump if I go this route with the LR, or is the light only needed if I add the macro? Thanks for any advice. Brian

Nevermind, I've found all of my answers in other threads. Mods feel free to delete this thread.
