Snail Questions
Hi,
I have a 50 Gallon saltwater tank without live rock and recently ordered 10 Dwarf Ceriths -4 Nerites- 6 Florida Ceriths - and 3 Nassarius. they aren't here yet and I didn't read a lot about them before ordering. I really just want them to keep my tank clean. After reading it seems like they will overtake your tank. I don't want a tank with a lot of ugly snails in it. Is this likely to happen? ways to prevent? |

I wouldn't worry about them. If they do start to mate, then just take some out and either give, sell or trade them.

When you have too many snails some will starve and are thus self-regulating. Out of curiosity if you do not have live rock, what are you using for biological filtration?
