Cycling query
Hey all
I'm getting ready to start a new setup and have everything except my new display tank (its still being built for me) I currently have my sump set up with lots of live rock and wondering if the cycle completes in the sump and I expand the water volume to the new display tank with NSW only (no new rock, will just move some from sump) will it create a new cycle, or would it be safe to start stocking the display? The new display tank wont be ready for bout 6 to 8 wks. Thanks all

If you have adequate rock and enough room, I don't see why you can't. A sump is no more than a tank with baffles, a lot of people cure their rock in Rubbermaid tubs so you should be fine.

+1, you should be good to go. You could also add dry sand without any problems once you set up the display, but if you add "live" sand there is a risk of a new cycle.
