What's happening to this?
I bought this piece as an encrusting coral. I glued the fully encrusted frag to this larger rock, expecting it to encrust the rock. Instead, the coral is doing this Marilyn Monroe thing. What gives?

Echinophyllia grows its own skeleton, it could lend the appearance of encrusting but it doesn't actually encrust on anything, if I understand correctly.
lol @ "marilyn monroe thing" I totally see it. |

Very odd, but, on a quick side note, how often do you feed your mini-maxi?

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I'll just blame it on "flow" and "Marilyn Monroe thing" .
I have maybe 6 or 7 mini-maxis, all different colors. I've never fed them in 3 years.

I may be wrong but to me it looks like the front edge is dying. So my guess would be something is stinging it.
