What kind of dose for your coral?

Hi guys, what kind dose do you use on your coral??

I am looking at the following items...

Kent Iodide
Kent PhytoPlex Phytoplankton
Kent Chromaplex Phytolankton
Zooplanktos-M

Do you need advice on food or supplements, or both?

What sized tank and more importantly what types of coral?

Are you partial to Kent or are there other products you could feel comfortable using?

Hi, Advice for supplements please..

Have a 30g tank, couple fishes, and so far, I have candy cane, mushroom, zoa, frogspawn, hammer and Toadstool Leather...

You don't need to add anything for those corals. Actually... you don't need to add anything for just about any *any* corals. Assuming your calcium levels are above 400ppm, and your alkalinity levels are above 8 dKh, and other parameters are within reason, those will be fine.

Yup, all you need really is a decent salt mix. If you don't have one... a decent test kit to test that fresh SW mix.

Alkalinity and Calcium are the 2 supplements that most often need to be added to the water. As your corals grow, more might be needed.

What is often the bigger issue is Nitrates and Phosphates. Phosphates you want a low reading... like .01 (anything above .04 is no good, but neither is 0). Nitrates... for the corals you got I would target 5ppm. LPS does better with a little dirtier water... if you had SPS it'd be a different story.

Im always leary of zoo or phyto plankton in a none refrigerated bottle because you are dumping dead organizms and preservatives into your system. Better to cultivate a good foodchain in your tank than dump that junk in your tank.

the extra iodine is OK. Your candy cane, and LPSs will make good use of it. but remember the first rule of supplements.....Know your tank levels before you dose and check at least monthly.

All of those are more foods. If you test and really do need to dose calc and alk. B ionic should work. You can also search on here to find 2 part recipes that will be cheaper. Never seen much of a point in iodine.
