Thank you RC!
My 46 BF tank is coming along nicely! After 11 days I just got my first nitrite reading. Yay!!!! Looks like the cycle is coming along. I just wanted to take a minute and thank all the members of RC who held my hand through this learning curve of saltwater. I have a long way to go yet but I have a great start thanks to RC! Thanks again and happy reefing!

So do you think there's any reason to combat the cyano at this time, or should I leave it be being that it's a brand new tank?

I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts to get out of hand. Keep up with regular water changes and it should pass.

Wow, I can really see why everyone's first advice is to go slow. I finally put a few hermits in, just to have something to look at. (And clean the diatoms) I am taking my time, but I can see why people fill there tanks right away. It's so exciting to see life coming out of the live rock, I guess that's why it has the name "live rock". I cannot wait to have my first fish! Another week or two, no need to rush. Corals and pods and shrimp oh my, I never knew what I was missing with freshwater all these years.
