identification maybe aiptasia tentacles on live rock
I just started up my tank about 3 weeks ago when I introduced this life rock that's been in a dark tank for a couple of months (bought it from a guy who was storing it after he broke down his tank). I just introduced some hermits and two clownfish last week, and other than the fish, crabs and the live rock that's all I've put in the tank.
Before I introduced the fish I was running lights off during my cycle so pretty much complete darkness. Today I noticed some small white/clear tentacles in the center of one of my rocks, it's hard to tell from the angle. Maybe it's aiptasia but I sure hope not. I don't have any corals yet, and this is the only one I've seen so far. Anyways check out the pictures it's kind of hard to see but look in the very center of each picture: |

Ok more pics, they are better, it's kind of a weird angle where it's sitting so I can't see the whole thing, just the clear whitish tenticles. It's in the middle of each circle:
Again I haven't noticed anything else like this in the tank yet. |

What should I do with it? Yank at it with a needlenose pliers? It's the only one I've seen.

Inject it with kalk paste, Joe's juice, lemon juice or hot water. If you yank it, part of it will survive.

I've got regular old lemon juice, so just use a syringe or something? Lemon juice doesn't effect have ill effects on the aquarium? Inject it like poke into it or just hit it real close with the juice?

Another idea, don't know how well it would work, but since that thing is in a hole and kind of hard to reach, what if I just put a glob of super glue in there, then took some epoxy putty and jammed it right over sealing over it?

To me it looks like it might be a cup coral. Can't really tell from the picture. Can you get a clearer shot of it? It would make sense because they don't require much light.
