Red face 29 gallon Nano tank setup

Hey I just wanted to show you guys my 29 gallon tank and I'm looking for advice and tips, modifications, coral advice, what corals I should get, etc. I have an ecoxotic panorama marine led fixture and a reefbreeders par38 light on the way. Running gfo and growing chaeto in sump. Currently have 2 clowns and 2 chromis. Coral is a zoanthid colony (help I'd this, I think it might be eagle eye) green hairy mushroom, and a new Kenya tree and gsp. Enjoy!

On the scape order some Marco rock to get you some inexpensive rock as fillers and get you more structure. On the sump I would try to get rid of that loop in the drain line plumbing. Loops in passive flow lead to air locks. This will only happen when your miles from the tank and a power outage happened then when the power comes back on the sump pump comes on and overflows the main tank then burns out when it runs out of water (been there done this) lol. Looks like your going for a mixed reef, so keep it simple add things like rics xenia shrooms LPs like torches frogspawn and duncans. All of these have simple care reqs and add a lot of color and movement to the tank.

Good luck

Cool thanks for the advice, when I get my new light I think I'm gonna go buy a hammer coral or torch coral.

May want a little more flow. My MP10 rocks my 29, im sure a larger korillia would help too. Random flow is always key

Would a tunze turbelle nano stream be a good addition?

Zoas are radioactive dragon eyes and wham'n'watermelon. Fairly common but very beautiful.

Changed the aquascape as well as added a par38 from reefbreeders. Added more zoas and a trumpet coral, candy cane coral, and war coral.

definitely looks like an improvement with the new aquascape and new lights. i would suggest ditching those 2 powerheads and go with larger ones. you shouldnt need to point them directly at the rock to get the flow you want. they should be pointing out into the open (notice yours are pointing at the rock and you have little to no surface agitation). the water should have lots of ripples and movement at the top to provide proper oxygen exchange.

And do you have any idea why my candy cane (the head on the left) is looking deflated?

And for flow would adding a tunze turbelle nanostream 6015 on one side and placing both Oralia's on the other be a good addition?

i would add two 6045s. ive always used nanostreams and think they are the most efficient and stylish powerheads you can add to a smaller tank. theyre adjustable so you could always turn them down a little if theyre blowing things around too much. or just start with one and move the 2 others to the other side of the tank. flow is something a lot of ppl overlook but it is a major contributor to a healthy tank.

as for the candy canes i wouldnt worry about them unless you start to see skeleton come thru the flesh. candy canes will also take to spot feeding. you can feed them small bits of fresh seafood, ie.. clam, shrimp, scallop no larger than the size of your pinky nail.

Some new additions in the last couple months. New ocellaris clown fish, firefish, torch coral, red montipora cap, euphylia cristata, hammer, and some new zoas. Hoping to get a mp10 soon. Also any advice on where to put the montipora cap?
