acan brand lighting????
I am getting sick of yearly bulb changes, 30 t5 bulbs gets costly.
I would like to change over to led. I seem to only see people using the big names. Ie maxspect, Ai, Radion, razor. I looked at the acan prism and it seems to be in line with the other brands. Anyone have any success with these lights? Is the reason the are not used due to lack of advertising? Thanks |

12K whites and 460nm blues, imagine a AI Sol but worse lol
I'd look into DIY, Maxspect, and Reefbreeders.

Depends on what you plan to keep. Softie, lps and some easier to keep sps like montipora would be fine. As for acropora, I would say no at this point.
I'm running these lights and I am definitely having problems with some of my sps, but I did just find that some of the leds are either wrong or bad. Not sure if this will make a difference once I have them replaced.

I have the A103AC which is the 800 and it grows SPS and anything else just fine, their par numbers on the website are pretty close to what I tested. Their customer service was great for me when I needed them.
I just upgraded to the Reef Breeders Photon, but using the Acan on my frag tank. |

The tank itself is keeping and growing SPS and LPS. The colors under the double blue fixture is the best. I've heard nothing but excellent customer service.

I have two of the 600 Series Prisms over my 90g for almost a year. I get great grow with softies and lps but have been unable to keep sps and I dont think its because of water quality. Within 2 weeks of putting any sps in the take they start to turn brown. A LFS has them too and all sps in the tank appear brown too.
They are a very nice looking light as far as the build and they are easy to set up and good customer service. I've played around with the intensity of the lights and currenly have them running at about 65% intensity, 8" above the tank. I dont like the optics on the red lights, they shine down on my sand bed like laser beems. |

Have you even looked at the Chinese led thread? There are dozens and dozens of people there using several different brands and they all seem quite satisfied.
