Lighting question! Led with pc's?
I'm trying to run sufficient light for my 55gallon reef tank mostly soft coral, lps, zoas, etc. I'm currently running power compacts: 2 actinic 65watt & 2 daylight 65watts. After the new addition of a stunner ecoxotic LED strip (24watt magenta/453nm blue) algae growth has taken off. I've cut down the day PC to 5hrs a day and run the actinics/led for about 12 hrs a day. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated thankyou

Generally with new lights, you want to run them for about 4-5 hours a day and slowly add an hour every 4-5 days till your needed amount of light. Also, it is usually recommended to run lights for about 8-10 hours max.

All light for 8-10 hours. I have all LED lighting. My blues come on at 1pm, then whites at 2pm-9pm and my blues turn off at 10pm.
