How long can I leave my sump unattached?
Im cleaning and redoing my sump. How long can i leave it unattached from the aquarium? I only have 2 fish and some clean up crew in a 55 gallon. Well established tank.

as long as your tank has heat, source of air and current you should be fine. i actually had a sump break and mine ran on just the heater air stone and circ pump for about 4 or so days. the water got a little gross with no filtration on it but i didn't lose anyone .

If I were you, I would order all the parts and supplies you need first to redo the sump as to minimize downtime but if you have to, 4-5 days should be alright.
