I think the foxface needs a bigger tank.. it's in a 55 correct?

But to play along anyway..They may not be fish, but I think my Peacock mantis shrimp and harlequin shrimp are my favs.

Not at all! very low maintence. Since they are the only thing in the tank (most of the time) there also isn't a huge bioload in the tank causing water quality issues.. I find him easier to keep then any of my past freshwater setups

could you keep two in a bigger tank? Ive heard stories of people keeping two in tanks together, whats a min on tank size, and do you use a sump for yours?

Never, 1 per tank even if its a 1000 gallon. Minimum tank size widely varies with each species, even ones that successfully breed never last long before killing each other. Most of the Gonodactylids can go in 5-10g, and others like the commonly known peacock mantis need around a 30 gallon.

Pretty soon I'm consituring building a multi-fuge so I can own more stomatopods (mantis shrimp)

You can ask around the Mantis shrimp forums here on rc for more info.

Where do you get yours from? would you trust liveaquaria? I want the the smashing type instead of the spearer, which do you prefer?

Mine are all smashers. I'm thinking about getting a spearer or two in my fuge whenever it's running (divided of course). If you buy from liveaquaria, don't expect to get the right kind. I ordered a O. scyllarus and recieved a G. ternatensis instead. Only order a mantis from them if it is through diver's den.

Infact I got mine through liveaquaria diver's den.

My little pink N. wrennerae I randomly found at the LFS.. I couldn't pass it up, she was so tiny and the coloration was rare so I snagged her as well.

I could explain the difference, but all stomatopods are just too unique in their own way, even if they are the same exact species

The brown peacock is an O. scyllarus and the little pink gal is a N. wrennerae.
You can read up on the different species here: http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthrop...raca/royslist/
