adding actinic led strips to mh/t5 fixture
like the title says i kinda want it all. currently im running 2x250 20k radiums and 4 T5s (2 actinic, 2 blue) in a hamilton cebu sun fixture. color and growth are better since going back to mh/t5 but it is missing some of the intense fluorescence i used to get when i had blues turned up and whites down on my old led fixture. so which are the best led strips out there right now? ecoexotic? current? looking to attach a strip to each side of my fixture. thanks in advance!

I have the same setup as you except running 400W radiums. I am going with Build my LED. It dimming capabilities and you can configure any way you want (colors). I also like the tank mounts. For the 48" strip it cost a little over $300.

+1 Rapid LED's long heatsinks worked very well.

I'll chime in with Buildmyled and their super actinic strip. They put out a lot of light and can customize sizes easily. Their customer service is also excellent.

anybody have experience with these reef brite strips? this one has a bracket that looks like it could be screwed into the side of my fixture easily. http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/ree...strip-light-48

I added a 4 foot stunner strip (all blue) to the side of my ATI Powermodule. The brackets make it very easy. It puts out a lot of light and would be a lot better for shimmer but it's impossible for it to punch through the t5s's brightness, so I doubt you'll get any real shimmer from a brite strip.
