Kessil/Fiilex barndoor accessory

During BRS’ recent Kessil feature, I saw that Kessil’s sister division, Fiilex, markets a studio light in housing of the same diamter as the A350/A360 with a barndoor attachment to modify the beam spread (Fiilex P360). Does anyone know if the Fillex barndoor can be purchased independently and adapted to the Kessil? Unlike the Kessil, I see that the business-end of the Fiilex is specifically designed to receive accessories, but I'm still hoping.

Beyond that, does anyone know of another barndoor option that can be adapted cleanly enough to match the fit and finish of the Kessil? Thanks!

I've always gotten replies from Kessel. Might want to give them a try.

That would be sweet if it will work, I love all the Japanese style tanks with barn door halides.

Kessil was very quick with a response (thank you Kessil). Unfortunately the answer was as I expected: no dice. The front end of the Fiilex is designed to receive the barndoor, but the Kessil would have to be modified, voiding the warranty.

I've been looking on the B&H website and found some small, generic barndoors, so that might be an option. They key of course, is how they might attach without looking sloppy!

Same here, great idea! Especially if they were reflective which could reduce the spotlighting and add some fill like a reflector does for a MH.

Perhaps, but I think it would have to be a textured reflective surface so that the color fringing at the periphery of the beam wouldn't be as obvious in the tank as it currently is on the back wall.

Here, take a look at DiCon's Fiilex photo/video light:

This says it is made for lights with 4" reflectors. Kessils are 4" diameter. They may be worth a shot, if they don't fit Amazon is great about returns...
