Receiving email from apex

Hello all,

I recently purchased a apex controller and it's awesome but I can't set up my email messaging. I have attempted to contact tech support but they were not able to help me. Any info. Will help.

Does your email provider support non SSL pop protocol?

For some reason apex does not support SSL on email. It drives me batty because I would love email alerts, but my ISP requires the secure connection.

Yeah it makes no sense. They need to put some time in developing that, especially since most ISPs and any free email account you can get will require secure authentication unless you build your own internal email server.

That actually brings up an idea, but it may be too technical for most reefers...

They are coming out with the Fusion for the Apex very soon, and it is supposed to simplify everything.....the hardest part of the Apex can be the network/internet/email stuff.

i wish they would open source their control software and mobile apps.

their android app is insanely buggy, and has been in a "beta" for nearly a year now.

i'd kill for some time alone with the code base.

I love how fusion is they're response to all these complaints. Because creating a cloud service solves EVERYTHING

Maybe it will, maybe it won't....it is impossible to know since it is not out yet. At least give it a chance.

Hello MondoBongo,

Not sure, I'm using yahoo. Tech support said all apex users are able to use a yahoo account.

What do your email settings look like?

Was it apex support that said it should work? It's been a long time since I used yahoo mail, but I didn't think their free service supported pop

Yes, it works. Search Yahoo for the correct SMTP address and correct port, (I'd include that but I am at work and my work net nanny won't allow me to access my apex) and easy-peasy to set up. What I learned is that my ISP email SMTP and Google don't work for the reasons previously described...
