Gold Bar Maroon Clownfish - Sick?

Yesterday I noticed something strange on the belly of my clown. It has this almost cluster of eggs looking thing dangling from her belly. You can just barely see it in this video:

She still comes out for food but has been spending more and more time in the back of the tank. She has not been eating as much as usual.

It looks like six or seven sausage shaped translucent eggs clustered together lengthwise all attached to the same point on her belly.

Is this a parasite? Is it her guts?

FYI, she is part of a mated pair that used to lay eggs regularly but has stopped in the past 6 months. Her mate is doing just fine and looks fine too. Also, she used to be the male member of a mated pair but switched after her mate died (When I first got her).

I orderd PraziPro... Just to get that moving in case I need it. Please help!

Now I can't see them. She didn't eat at all last night. Any advice?

All I can tell for sure from the video is that your clown looks to be in distress.

If you can, move her into a QT for better pics & treatment advice.

BTW, today the growth was gone and her belly was tinted white where the growth was.

Good news is that she finally came out of her cave and was eating voraciously. I got some more video of her here:

I've had her for 6 years and she has traveled cross country with me twice so perhaps it was the temp dip that I had last week that caused the problem. (my heater failed and the temp dropped to 72)

That might have been the issue. A bit of prolapse right before she lays eggs. I'll be looking for eggs today.

From the video, she could have swim bladder. That's common in older clowns.

Thanks. Sure looks like that in the videos I saw. I'll check for eggs once the lights are on and I'll do a 30% water change this weekend.

No eggs to be seen. I was watching her mate and her swimming and I think you might be onto something, HumbleFish. She definitely has more trouble swimming up and staying afloat than her mate.

Diet and water quality appear to be the culprits for swim bladder disease, correct?

I think it's sorta like HLLE; lots of theories as to what causes it, but nothing definitive.

It's also possible the fish has intestinal blockage. Try feeding a few boiled, then peeled, green peas. I think the fiber contained in the pea helps relieve constipation.

Another possibility is intestinal parasites; but you should see white stringy poop if the fish has that.

I decided to dose prazipro as this thread went quiet. I'll update in a week to see if her behavior changes.

I would recommend you start a new thread on this. I'm here to try and figure out what is going with my clown and don't have any expertise to offer.

Thanks Deinonych. Still no resolution to my issue. 2 days later and no difference. I might dose again next week. Still wondering if those were parasitic worms in my picture/video.

They could be. Do you have a microscope on hand? That would confirm whether that object was a helminth (worm) or snail eggs.

I thought snail eggs were deposited on glass only? These were floating around.
