The reef octopus hob hb-2000 I picked up a few months ago is kicking butt and easy to adjust and empty. I pull stuff out so nasty you can't see through it and water params are perfect. You can adjust it to pull wetter if you prefer.

ATB had the Multi skimmer HOB and it was not a good performer without modding (had one). Too small for a 120!
The MCE600 (had one) would work but would be too small as well. Also the cup volume wouldn't cut it for you.

largest HOBs I know of with decent size collection cups are the reef octo LX-2000 S, the Bermuda Rogue (both up to 150 gal) and the life reef HVS series (HVS2, HVS3-24) big bucks though.
from around 300 to 500 bucks.

FWIW, I've used the rogue and it performed well but its an internal pump and you would have to mod it to run the pump externally (ehiem 1250). It's doable but not easy.

Tivo

aquamaxx is pretty good. but I used a reef octopus bh2000 before i had a sump and man was it ever a champ! it would pull skimmate like you wouldn't believe. it had an external pump which was really nice too so it didn't transfer too much heat. it's only rated for 125 gallons though.

Do you have both, and prefer the R/O?

Great.. i will dig for octopus bh2000..

my tank is 93 gallon with soft and few sps..4 fish.

it should do it.. currently i have aqua medic turbofloter blue 1000, which i have been running for 3 years..~
ok.but need to change the pump.(some part broken, so i am thinking to get a new skimmer instead of the pump which will cost me $60)

If you do get the octopus bh2000 google the setup. There's some great youtubes on installing and tricks to getting it started sometimes
