Kessil a150w
I just want an opinion on these lights. I would be putting them on a 29 gallon biocube and want to know how well they work. Corals would be zoanthids, leather, mushrooms and maybe some other corals, no hard though.

Yes it will work, I put mine on my 120 tank and cause my yuma to get up and go because it was too much light all of a sudden but I got a little baby yuma afterward. I already have a 6 bulb tek elite on that tank but I was just playing around with it to see how much light it puts out.

It will be fine for a mixed reef but if you want an SPS dominate tank I would go with a 360. I have 1 a150 on my ten gallon tank it is great for SPS but I would want more light on a 29.

Yea, I just feel like changing the light to an LED because the metal halide seems to emit a lot of heat a cause a lot of evaporation, but it lights the tank perfectly. The 350 would better imitate the light on it now?

I have a Kessil 150w 15,000k bulb, I have it over a 20 gallon tall. I have limited coral, but all coral is doing very well.
Pro's: Green Birdsnest is colored up, and growing, small frag 2 inches wide is now about 6 inches wide in about 6 months, Frog Spawn and Torch Coral are dividing, zoas spreading. Cons: non dimming, non controllable, and my biggest complaint is having a puck style single light source makes for lots of shadows and limited where I could place corals, this single light source is the reason for that insane shimmer. I also feel its to blue, but that's my eye. All in all, its a good light, not great, I am upgrading to a 40 breeder, and instead of getting one more kessil I will be going with another brand all together. For a cube style tank, it may work better, but honestly your best bet to limit shadows is a single island rock scape and cube tanks do that well. Have fun!
