gotta love bare bottoms

We'll I just did my first real water change in my new bare bottom reef.I can't believe how easy it is to get all the crap out now.I left about an inch all around between my hdpe board and the glass. All the detritus accumulated in that chanel and was siphoned right out.I can't imagine if I still had sand all that would still be in my tank.I guess that goes to show if not thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis how nasty a dsb can be.

Bare bottoms certainly do have their benefits. I don't know if I could go without my sand-dwelling citizens though. Enjoy them too much.
